The free e-book "From Defenestrations to Bitcoin - A 600-Year Fight for Freedom" tells the remarkable tale of how the Czechs have resisted oppression for over six centuries.

The parallels between the clashes of the past and those of today are astonishingly relevant. Those who value freedom will be fascinated to discover how the groundwork for the struggle that is now taking place in the digital realm was laid decades - even centuries - before. This is a new struggle and one that will have ripple effects on a global scale both today and in the future.

WHY IT MATTERS

Disconnected EU elites keep pushing mass migration and destructive green policies. They don't care that their socialist ideology, destroys the standard of living of the European middle class, just like communist rule in Central & Eastern Europe did during the 20th century.

Governments and corporations are scrambling to dominate the digital realm through centralized and highly controlled networks.

Our personal digital freedoms are being eroded under the pretext of fighting crime and terrorism. Yet, most people still aren’t aware of just how serious the situation is.

FAQ

As most people are aware, nobody knows the real identity of Satoshi Nakamoto, the pseudonymous creator of Bitcoin. However, Bitcoin is an open source, decentralised software protocol. Anyone can use it and no single entity can change its characteristics.

Once an open source protocol reaches widespread adoption, similar to how everyone now uses the internet (TCP/IP protocol), the Linux operating system, or even the humble PDF file format, it becomes exponentially more difficult to change it. Whoever was initially behind its inception no longer controls it.

Only if a vast majority of its USERS agree, can changes be made to its core principles. This is not a bug, but a feature of Bitcoin. It takes human beings out of the equation, allowing anyone to independently verify its integrity. The decentralised nature of its global network means not even governments can stop it.

Contrary to so-called Proof of Stake algorithms, common in most other cryptocurrencies, owning a lot of Bitcoin doesn't give anyone the power to change Bitcoin. Bitcoin's Proof of Work algorithm, used for mining new coins, guarantees that no one, not even the creator(s) can issue more tokens at will.

The decentralized revolution, that was started by the inception of Bitcoin, revolves around taking control over the system and its monetary policy out of the hands of fallible humans. Instead of having to trust 3rd parties in the form of (central) banks and goverments, the only things users have to trust are mathematics (cryptography) and thermodynamics (mining process). As we all know, nobody can cheat mathematics and physics.

Most other cryptocurrencies are under the control of a company or small group of people. Although they are marketed as "decentralised", they in fact sacrifice most decentralisation to make more frequent updates to the protocol and allow for higher transaction throughput. Therefore, on a fundamental level, they are not comparable to Bitcoin, because they reintroduce the need to trust the people who control the system.
